To Be Verona, Food for the Body: Soave

Wine and art? A perfect combination that inebriates your body and soul. You can find it just 20 km away from Verona, in the beautiful Medieval little town of Soave. If you love food and wine tours, but also art and nature, this is the perfect destination.

Soave isn’t just the “birthplace” of the white wine of the same name, that alone makes up the 40% of PDO production in the Province of Verona, but also a lovely little town rich in history and charm. The medieval castle up the hill, restored and expanded by the Scaligeri, dates back to the XIV century. Its walls enfold the whole ancient village, providing an evocative view. Together with the castle, other medieval buildings beautify the city centre, for example Palazzo di Giustizia and Palazzo Scaligero, both built at the behest of Cansignorio della Scala.

In the surroinding of Soave you can take part in several interesting food and wine tours. For example the Soave wine route that crosses four amazing valleys: Val di Mezzane, Val d’Illasi, Val Tramigna e Val d’Alpone. Here tourists can enjoy beautiful views and excellent wines.

Easy to get to, Soave is the perfect destination for a weekend of gastronomy tours, art and nature.
