The Humatics Group of Verona obtains first place in Start Cup Veneto final

Start Cup Veneto, a competition which intends to motivate research and technological innovation, has just arrived at 15th edition and it is realized by Universities of Padua, Venice Ca' Foscari and Verona, thanks to cooperation between FabLab Officine Digitali Padua, Verona FabLab, FabLab Venice, M31, Associazione Prospera, SCENT - School of Entrepreneurship and busnet.it.

The dean of Verona University, Nicola Sartor, remembered in his opening greeting "Start Cup Veneto promoted the born of 33 spin off, 25 start up not connected to university, 26 licenses, 4.500  people wrote a business plan, 1.263 groups registered, 864 of these wrote a business idea".

This year technical committee assigned first place to Humatics, a researches group (dr. Davide Conigliaro, dr. Pietro Lovato and prof. Marco Cristani) of Computer Sciences Department of Verona University.

The idea about categorization of products through a genres mix is born from necessity helping e-commerce user in research of a product in online catalogues and it is realized thanks to research work led by team of Vips laboratory (Vision, Image Processing & Sound).
