The 10th edition of the “Incontri con la cultura russa”, the annual exhibition dedicated to Russian cinema, will be held every Monday, until 18 March, at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona (8.30 pm, 3 ° Conference Hall floor, free entry).

This year, the protagonists will be the films of Andrej Končalovskij, the director, screenwriter and Muscovite producer whose entire career will be traced through 10 films that span 6 decades; a polyhedric  artist who won the Leone d'Argento in Venice in 2014 for "The Postman's White Nights", able to see, interpret and suggest the nuances of the different protagonists, worlds and contexts of contemporary Russia, and beyond.

During the first event "Ivan's Childhood" (1962), the film debut of Andrej Tarkovskij, of which Andrej Končovsky took care of the screenplay, set during the Second World War, was screened.

The exhibition “Incontri con la cultura russa” is organized and promoted by the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation of Verona, by the Association Conoscere Eurasia, from the Russian House in Verona, Russkiy Mir Foundation and Gosfilmfond, under the patronage of the City of Verona.

"In addition to being one of the greatest protagonists of the world cinema - explained Antonio Fallico, president of Conoscere Eurasia Association - Andrej Končalovsky offers some of the most sincere authorial photographs on the big screen of the contemporary era and its transformations. A look at the world and Russia that we hope represents a further stimulus to deepen the knowledge and cultural dialogue between our countries ".
