Atlantech: is born in Verona a patent for safest driving

The revolutionary patent for safest driving was born in Verona: Atlantech, a spin off of the University of Verona, has created a patent that can save lives during road accidents and at the same time reduce the social cost of these.

In the event of a road accident against a lighting pole, the patented Atlantech devices in Verona are able to absorb part of the energy generated by the impact and consequently reduce the damage to things and people.

The company, spin off of the University of Verona, has prepared this new technology for lighting poles, so that it is environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing: unlike traditional lighting poles will not present concrete plaster at base that badly enter the environment at the eyelashes of the streets.
Testing on the Atlantech device was carried out by GDTech, one of the most cutting-edge European engineering laboratories in simulating road accidents and their consequences.

UNI EN 12767 passive safety legislation has generated on the European market lighting poles with passive safety media at much higher costs than those of traditional lighting poles: due to increasingly limited public resources in Italy and others European countries, this lighting pole has been difficult to introduce.
The technology developed by Atlantech, as well as transforming a lighting pole into an instrument that increases the safety of passengers, has lower costs than existing ones and allows the adoption of such a large system scale more easily and less burdensome for municipal budgets.
